In order to become a nurse practitioner and make a great salary, you will need to get the right education. A nurse practitioner must need a minimum of a degree in nursing, along with a bachelor of science to master's degree.

The salary of a nurse practitioner also depends on where you work. The most common choices of health care facilities are clinics, health departments, hospitals, hospice centers, nursing homes, nursing schools, private offices, walk-in clinics and veterans administration facilities.

Compared to other nursing jobs, a nurse practitioner earns the most. The average salary of a typical Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is about $38,000. The average salary of a Registered Nurse (RN) is about $61,000.
